Sight Lights for Pipeline and Pressure Vessel Inspection

Sight lights are simple devices for providing illumination to the inside of a pressure vessel or pipeline through a sight glass or sight flow indicator.

Sight lights can be expected to perform reliably if they are properly specified, free of any vibration or shock loadings caused by rapid temperature changes or mechanical impacting and lastly, by using good workmanship in the installation and maintenance of the Sight light.

The Manual for Inspection and Maintenance covers the two types of Sight lights. Both are available on this website and are differentiated by their intended location of use; such as non-hazardous versus hazardous classified locations.

Many of the storage, installation, operation and maintenance procedures are identical for each configuration.

However, in those instances where different instructions are warranted, they will be clearly indicated.
